Winter Creswell Crags

Winter Creswell Crags 70 x 70 cm acrylic on box canvas.

Last week as part of my work with Purple and Grey myself and Karina had a guided walk around the wonderful historic gorge that is Creswell Crags its a place where Britain's first cave art can be seen and it feels although time has stood still. I just had to paint it!

'Creswell Crags is a limestone gorge honeycombed with caves and smaller fissures. Stone tools and remains of animals found in the caves by archaeologists provide evidence for a fascinating story of life during the last Ice Age between 50,000 and 10,000 years ago.'
